He was born in 1965 in Geidam, Yobe State.

He attended Kafela Primary School from 1972 to 1979. Government Secondary School Askira from 1979 to 1984 and Federal Polytechnic Kaduna (Public Administration) from 1994 to 1996, Institute of Management Studies (Conf. Sec. IV Certificate) from 1988 to 1990. Ahmadu Bello University Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from 2006 to 2007.
