The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has expressed its readiness to partner with the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria, on capacity building of NAHCON staff, on aviation related matters in line with the Commission’s statutory roles. The Chairman/CEO NAHCON, Barr. Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad, disclosed this when he received top management staff of NCAT on a courtesy visit to the Commission on Tuesday. Barr. Abdullahi pointed out that the partnership would enhance the aviation operations of the Commission, which constitutes 80 percent of the entire Hajj process.
“Aviation is part and parcel of Hajj operations. We know that NCAT, Zaria stands tall in aviation matters not only in Africa but in the world. We are happy that our staff who recently underwent NCAT training gained much and can testify to that. We assure you that it is just the beginning and we look forward to a lasting relationship with NCAT, for a continuous capacity-building on the aviation-related issues”, Muhammad observed.
The NAHCON CEO, who was represented by the Commissioner Operations, Alhaji Abdullahi Modibbo Saleh, appealed to the College Management to consider reducing its cost of training programme so that the Commission could sustain and guarantee a long lasting partnership.
Earlier, the Head of the College Management School, Engr. E. O. Onwuka, thanked the Commission for choosing NCAT to train its staff. He explained that, NCAT trainings are up to international standards obtainable across the globe. Stressing that its fees were among the cheapest anywhere in the world.
The other members of NCAT delegation, included Captain Bara’u Mohammed, Head of Flying School and Engr. Waheed B. Disu, Technical Assistant to NCAT Rector.
